The Google Map page allows you to embed a Google Map, customized with your own markers and location legend.
If you are not familiar with the features used when formatting Google Map pages, see Google Map overview with examples. This will help you decide if you are going to use the Category Selector, Legend, Letter Points, etc.
Navigate to the parent page for the new Google Map page, mouse over the +Childpage button and select Google Map from the list of pages.
Complete the Page Summary and General Properties section.
Enter a License Key, if you have one. A License Key is only required if your Maps API usage exceeds Google's usage limits (25,000 map loads per day; non-profit organizations are exempt). If you require a license, click the Get a License link to generate a license for your web site URL.
In the Google Map Configuration section, be sure you enter a Center Latitude and Longitude. You cannot save the page until you enter this information. You also need to enter this in order to use the drag-and-drop Dynamic Constructor for building your map.
You must Save the page now in order to proceed. Once saved, leave the other fields in the Configuration section blank for now and proceed to the Dynamic Constructor section.
The Dynamic Constructor section will display your map with the center points you entered in step 5 above. You can now drag the map to the location you want by clicking on the left mouse button, holding it down and dragging the map. In between drags, you can Zoom in by clicking on the +plus sign.
Repeat this until you have the desired zoom level and visual center point for your map.
Once you have zoomed in on the section of map you want on your published page, you can start clicking on the map to add map point markers. Click (and drag) the markers in the various locations you want to mark. Once you have your map point markers added, click Get Map Points. This will enter each of the map points into the section called Map Points. You will finish these later.
Now click the Get Center and Get Zoom Level buttons. Clicking these fields will update the corresponding fields in the Google Map Configuration section. This will make your published map appear exactly as the one in the Dynamic Constructor does.
Save the page again.
You can now complete the fields in the Google Map Configuration section if you wish.
You can now complete the Map Points section. You will not be able to add categories to your Map Points until you have completed the Map Point Categories section.
Enter Map Point Categories if you wish to group your map points (e.g. Restaurants, Pools, Transit Stations, Community Centers, etc.)
The Legend Settings are used for displaying a legend showing map point markers, location names, brief descriptions and categories, as defined by you.
If you know how to use HTML and IronPoint tags, you can use the Advanced Layout Options - View Mode to customize the format of the published Google Map page.
Enter an Introduction to be displayed above your map.
