Google Map dynamic constructor
The Dynamic Constructor functions as a WYSIWYG interactive map builder. By clicking and dragging and marking the map in this section, you can add all of your map points easily.
Getting started in the Dynamic Constructor: The map displayed in the Dynamic Constructor section is based on how you completed the fields in the Configuration section. The Center Latitude and Longitude and the Zoom Level are used as are the settings for the selectors and navigation options. If you want to change them on the map in the Dynamic Constructor section, edit the fields in the Configuration section and Save the page. The map in the Constructor section will be redisplayed with the new settings.
Locate and zoom in on the area you want to add map points to:
Click the left mouse button and hold it down: drag the map towards the location where you want to place your first map point.
Use the key to zoom in.
Reposition by clicking and dragging again and then use the key to zoom in more. Repeat this until you have the zoom level and area that you want.
If you want this Zoom Level to be the one your map users see, click the Get Zoom Level button. This will copy the zoom level from the Dynamic Constructor to the Zoom Level field in the Configuration section. Thus when the page is published your users will see what you see now.
Place map points (markers are added) on the map:
Click on the first location. A marker is displayed.
Click on each of the other locations you want to place a marker on.
Once you have all of the markers you want, click the Get Map Points button. For each marker you placed on the map, a line will be added in the Map Points section. Each of the map point lines indicate the latitude and longitude of the point and provide other fields for you to complete.
Save the page to update all of the map points fields in the Map Points section. If you do not Save the page you will not be able to complete the map points fields (Name, Category, etc.)
Note: All of the markers disappear off your map once you "Get" them. They are now controlled by the Map Points section.
: You can move these map point markers to a different location while on the Dynamic Constructor map by clicking on them, holding down the mouse button and dragging them to a new location. This drag-and-drop functionality allows you to reposition a badly-placed marker.
Get Center: This button is useful for updating the Center Latitude and Longitude fields of your map. When you have your map exactly how you want it - with the desired zoom level and with the center displayed in the middle of the Dynamic Constructor, simply click Get Center to update the Center fields in the Configuration section.
Get Zoom Level: This button is useful for updating the Zoom Level field. When you have your map exactly how you want it - with the desired zoom level displayed in the Dynamic Constructor, simply click Get Zoom Level to update the Zoom Level field in the Configuration section.
Get Map Points: See Place map points... above. You can also add Map Points manually by clicking Add in the Map Points section and completing the fields in the Map Point editor.
Remove All Map Points: Click this to remove all markers from the map displayed in the Dynamic Constructor section. This DOES NOT remove the map points as entered in the Map Points section. If you want to permanently remove a map point from the map, you need to click the icon beside the map point in the Map Points section.
