User portal - edit profile page properties
These settings control the information displayed on the page when users are editing their user portal page. This is only relevant if you have allowed users to customize their portal.
Title: The text you enter here is displayed on the main user portal page as a link that users can click on to edit their user profile information. This is the same information that is displayed on the user's record in the User Manager as well as on the user's My Page page. The text you enter here is also displayed on the page once the user has clicked the edit link. The default text is "Edit Profile Page".
Enable Public Profile: When this feature is enabled (check the box), a public profile page is created for each user. The Public Profile page is one that can be linked to from other pages such that if users of those pages click on a username, the system will display their Public Profile. For example, Forum and Blog pages - pages that can display a username link, may be modified to allow users to click on the username and view the user's profile. They cannot edit the Public Profile page. If disabled, no linking to users' profile pages is permitted. Note that individual users can edit their profile pages and choose which pieces of information they want to include in their public profile and which they wish to hide from public view.
Enable Profile Image: If you enable profile images, then users' images can be shown on the portal page and the user's Public Profile page (see Enable Public Profile above). When this is enabled, you can define the label for the profile in the Label field. The default label is “Profile Picture”. If you uncheck this box to disable the display of profile images, no images will be displayed on the User Portal pages or on the Public Profile pages.
Profile Questions: Click the Edit link to add or remove the profile information fields that will be displayed on the Edit Profile Page. The fields you can control include the name fields, email, and preferred editor. You can choose to display fields but not allow them to be edited by the users or you can choose to hide the fields all together so that they are not displayed at all on the Edit Profile Page.
