Event RSVP
This section allows you to setup a system for users to RSVP for this event. You can attach a predefined form to be used for RSVPing or you can design a custom form right here in this section. The Event RSVP function is enabled on an event by event basis and allows you to define a set of questions to be presented with the event. The responses can be downloaded in an Excel format.
Enable RSVP for this Event: Check this option to allow an RSVP section/form to be included with this event. When visitors view the event, they will see the questions you included on the RSVP form. Once you select this option, additional fields are displayed in this section as follows:
Use a pre-defined RSVP form: If the calendar administrator has created RSVP forms, you can select one from the drop-down. Calendar administrators can create any number of RSVP forms that ask for different types or combinations of information such as contact information and why visitors are interested in an event, or where they heard about it, etc.
Use a custom RSVP form: Check this option if you wish to create your own set of questions to ask on the event form. When you select this option, additional fields are displayed that allow you to create a custom form.
Form Name: The form you create here will be added to the list of predefined RSVP forms, meaning you will be able to use it again and again without having to recreate it each time. Try to give the form a name that indicates the type of information collected by it. This will make it easier for users to pick a form from the list of predefined forms.
Introduction Text: The text you enter here is displayed in the area immediately above the questions and form fields you include on the RSVP form. You can explain why you are asking the questions and the importance of their taking the time to answer them.
Add: Click the Add button to add questions and fields for calendar users to fill out. The maximum question length is 100 characters. You might add things such as "Where did you hear about this event?" or "What is your primary area of research?" or "Please provide your email address so we may contact you:". For each question type you can indicated what type of field it is (text for regular questions, email if you are requesting an email address, phone, etc.) The type selection affects how their answer must be formatted. You can make each question required by checking the Required checkbox.
Download: Click this button to download the responses that have been submitted via the event's RSVP form. Responses are downloaded to a file call RSVP.xls which can be edited using a spreadsheet program. Submissions are not deleted when you download so you can download at any time and the file will include all responses submitted to date via the event's RSVP form. If you wish to track RSVPing, you can save each downloaded xls file with a date indicating when it was downloaded.
