Event categories

Click here for an OverviewOverviewCategories are used for grouping similar events and activities together so that users of your calendar can find similar events. Categories can be entered via a number of locations within the ACTIVE Content Manager. You can add event categories in the Syndication Manager under Manage Syndicated Page Settings or while editing the Syndicated Calendar page.

When you create an event, you can assign the event to one or more categories.:

• Display Categories: Select the Display Categories check box to display the categories on the page.

• Add: Click the Add button to add a new category line to the page. Do this for each category you wish to assign the event to.

• Order: You can change the order in which the categories are displayed on this page. Click the up and down arrows to move a certain category to a new location.

• Category: For each category line you add, select a category from the drop-down list. You cannot select the same category twice. The categories shown here were added either on the Syndicated Calendar page or via the Syndication Manager - Manage Syndicated Page Settings - Syndicated Events.

• Delete: Click the Delete icon to remove a category from the event.
