Pagelets tab

Click for an OverviewOverviewIf you have small amounts of content that is used repeatedly throughout your sites, you can create a single instance of that content and then re-use it over and over on different pages throughout your site. The single instance you create is referred to as a pagelet.

Unlike pages, pagelets are created in the Syndication manager. If a change is required to the information contained in the pagelet, it can be changed once, in the Syndication Manager, and then all instances of that content are automatically updated so that all pages and sites where the pagelet is used reflect the change.

For each page you wish to add the pagelet content to, you edit the page and go to the Pagelets tab where you can add one or more pagelets.

Note:
The Pagelets tab is only displayed if the design template for the page includes the special pagelet tags. These tags are added by the person in charge of your site design or by the system administrator.

Once pagelets are implemented, you will see the following text (in very small print) on the Pagelets tab:

"The order of the pagelet in the template and the following grid represent the pagelet zones. There are 1 zones in the current template."

Note
it says there is 1 zone available. If there are no zones, it says there are 0 zones and you must add them to your page templates.

MOBILE PAGELETS

If a site has “Support Mobile Devices” mode enabled, mobile pagelets can be inserted into all pages that support mobile view. If the pages you are editing do not support mobile view or you are not using the Mobile Device feature, this section is not displayed.

If displayed, you can use this section the same way you would use the Pagelets section above.
