Adding and removing pagelets

Use these procedures to add or remove pagelets on your pages.

Note: Pagelets can only be added if your system and page templates have been setup for them. If not, the pagelets tab is not displayed when editing pages. See Adding pagelets to your site.

Adding pagelets

1. Edit the page you want to add pagelets to and go to the Pagelets tab.

2. Click Add Pagelet. A blank line with <<None>> is displayed at the bottom of the pagelets list.

3. Click on <<None>>.

4. From the Pagelet dialog, select the pagelet to add and click Save.a
   
   Note: The text in small font above the Add Pagelet button indicates how many different sections or zones of the page are available for adding pagelets. If there are 0 (zero) zones, the pagelet will not be displayed and you must speak to your site administrator.

5. If you are creating a Search or Polling pagelet type, a checkbox will be displayed in the Use Page Template column:
   
   
   
   Check the Use Page Template checkbox if you want the pagelet you are adding to use the same design template as the page the pagelet is attached to. If you do not select this checkbox, the pagelet data will be displayed using the pagelet design template. (pageletdesigntemplate.html)

6. If you want all child pages of this page to use the same Pagelet in the same Zone, click (Save and Force Children). This option is only available to site administrators.

7. If you want this page to use the same pagelet in this Zone that the parent page uses, check the Use Parent checkbox.

8. Click Save and submit for publication.

Adding parent page's pagelets

Use this procedure to assign all of the pagelets from the parent page to the current page. This saves time by automatically duplicating all pagelet settings on the current page. You can then make changes to individual pagelets if required.

1. Edit the page you want to add pagelets to and go to the Pagelets tab.

2. Click Inherit Parent Pagelets. A warning message is displayed.

3. Click on OK to proceed.
   
   Current pagelet settings are overwritten, all zones and pagelets are created on the current page and the Use Parent checkboxes are checked.

Removing pagelets

1. Edit the page you wish to remove pagelets from and go to the Pagelets tab.

2. In the list of pagelets, locate the page you wish to remove and check the DEL checkbox.

3. Click Save and the pagelet will be removed.

4. Click Save and submit for publication.
