If your organization has purchased the Quick Poll feature, you can use this procedure to create a quick poll survey that you can use throughout your site on multiple pages. If you want to create a quick poll on a page of its own, use the Creating a quick poll page procedure.
From the Admin Center, open the Syndication Manager.
Select the parent pagelet for the new pagelet and click on the Edit link beside the parent pagelet name.
On the Child Pages tab, click New and select Quick Poll.
Complete the fields in the Page SummaryPage Summary section.
Title - this is a required field. The title you enter here for the pagelet will become a category page type under which you can create other child pagelets with the actual content.
For example, you may call this category Human Resources and then all child pagelets you create under this page would be for use by the human resources department.
URL Title - If you wish, the contents of this field can be used for display on Site Maps instead of the Title field.
If you export your sites and you leave this field blank, the export uses the Title field for the filename. If you are not sure if you export your site, speak to your site administrator.
Use only alphanumeric characters in the URL Title field. All other characters will be converted to underscores.
HTML Title - The title you enter here gets entered into the HTML <Title> tag, which is the field that Search Engines look at when scanning the web. In other words, you can use this field to enter a title that will optimize your site's ranking in the list of search results. If you leave the field blank, the system uses the contents of the Title field.
In the Quickpoll Question editor window, enter and format the text of the question you wish to poll on.
In the Quickpoll Items editor window, enter each possible answer. Be sure to enter only one answer per line.
Click Save.

Allow Vote Once - check this checkbox if you want to allow users to have only one vote.
Vote Once Authentication - in order to ensure a user only votes once, the system must have some way to track that a particular user has already voted. You can elect to have the system track if a user has voted by tracking the user's IP Address, by placing a cookie on their system, by tracking their user information for the current session, or by tracking the username only if they must log in to vote. In the event that a user tries to vote more than once, the item you select here will be checked by the system and a message displayed saying they cannot vote more than once.
Note: Some network systems have the same IP address for multiple users. Be sure your system does not operate this way if you are selecting the IP Address option.
Default Vote Message Text - the text you enter here is displayed if you have limited the allowable votes to one and the user attempts to vote again. If you do not enter anything, the default message is "Only one vote is allowed per user".
Cookie Message Text - the text you enter here is displayed if the user's system is set to not allow persistent cookies, and you have selected the Persistent Cookie method of tracking if the user has voted already. If you do not enter anything, the default system message is "The system was unable to process your vote. This feature is only available if your browser is set to allow persistent cookies."
Authenticated User Message Text - the text you enter here is displayed if an unauthorized user attempts to vote. This is for instances where users are required to log into the web site in order to vote. If you do not enter anything, the default message is "This feature is only available for authenticated users. Please log in before voting."
