There are a number of ways to create and work with links in the content editor windows. These links do not appear in the section menu of your web site. If you want to create a link that will appear in the section menu, you must create a Link page type rather than simply creating a link in the content editor window.
Use Internal links when you want to put a link on one page that links to another web page within the same web site.
Position the cursor where you want the link to be, or highlight existing text that you want to turn into a link.
Click to display the link insert dialog.
Make sure the Internal Link tab is displayed.
In the page explorer, locate the page you want to link to and click on it.
Whatever is in the Title field is what the link tool tip text will say. You can change it if you wish.
Select whether you want to open the linked page in the Same Window or in a New Window.
Click Insert.
When you have returned to the page you are editing, click Save.
To change link text, right-click on the link and select Set Link Properties. On the Hyperlink tab, change the Link Text and click OK.
Use External Links when you want to place a link on your web page that links to a different web site or an email address.
Position the cursor where you want the link to be, or highlight existing text that you want to turn into a link.
Click to display the link insert dialog.
Go to the External Link tab.
In the Address fields, enter the complete address of the page you want to link to. Click on the Address drop-down to see the types of addresses you can select.
For example, to link to an email address, select mailto and enter the complete email address.
If you want the icon showing its an external link to be displayed, check the Icon checkbox.
Enter the Title text for the link. This will become the tool tip text for the link.
Select whether you want to open the linked page in the Same Window or in a New Window.
Click Insert.
When you have returned to the page you are editing, click Save.
To change link text, right-click on the link and select Set Link Properties. On the Hyperlink tab, change the Link Text and click OK.
Creating anchorsCreating anchors
Use anchors to create links to a specific location on either the same page or another page. The difference between anchors and links is that links can only jump to the top of a page whereas anchors can jump to a particular spot on a page.
Position the cursor where you want to create an anchor. This is the spot that the user will jump to. Later you will create the link that jumps to here.
Click to display the link insert dialog.
Go to the Insert Anchor tab.
Enter a Name for the anchor. What you type here will appear in the Target drop-down list on the Anchor Link tab. It will not appear on the web page.
Click Insert.
When you have returned to the page you are editing, click Save.

Click Insert.
When you have returned to the page you are editing, click Save.
To change link text, right-click on the link and select Set Link Properties. On the Hyperlink tab, change the Link Text and click OK.
Linking to anchors on other pagesLinking to anchors on other pages
Use this procedure to insert a link that jumps to an anchor on another page within the same web site.
Position the cursor where you want the link to be.
Click to display the link insert dialog.
Make sure the Internal Link tab is displayed.
In the page explorer, locate the page that has the anchor you want to link to and click on it.
Click the Anchors... button. This displays a list of anchors available on the page you are linking to.
Select the Anchor from the list and click Insert.
Leave the Title as displayed. You can change the link text later.
Select whether you want to open the linked page in the Same Window or in a New Window.
Click Insert.
When you have returned to the page you are editing, click Save.
Right-click on the link and select Set Link Properties.
On the Hyperlink tab, change the Link Text and click OK.
Click Save.
Once you have inserted a link you can right-click on the link to set its properties.
