Activating and inactivating pages

Activating pages

This procedure is used to re-activate a page that was previously flagged as inactive. When a page is inactivated, it remains in the list of child pages on the Child Pages tab of the parent page. These pages are reactivated by checking the page's Active checkbox. The following is one method of doing this.

  1. Edit the parent page of the page you wish to reactivate.

  2. On the Child Pages tab, locate the inactive page.

  3. To the right of the page name,

  4. Check the Active checkbox.

  5. Click Save and republish the pages.

Note: When a page is reactivated, you may need to reinstate the “Review Required” emails by manually changing the Follow-Up task setting from “None” to "Required".

If you wish to remove web pages from the Child Pages list without deleting them, you must Archive them using the Archive Manager.

Inactivating pages

Use this procedure to inactivate web pages. When you inactivate pages, they remain in the child pages list on the Child Pages tab of the parent. Inactivating is useful if there is a possibility that you would want to reactivate the page in the future.

  1. Edit the parent page of the page(s) you wish to inactivate.

  2. Go to the Child Pages tab and locate the page(s) to inactivate.

  3. Uncheck the page(s)' Active checkbox.

  4. Click Save and submit for publication.

Inactivated web pages can be reactivated later if you decide you want to use them again.

Note: When you inactivate a page workflow settings applied to the page are retained. If you do not wish to have “Review Required” emails sent while a page is inactive you must manually change the Follow-Up task setting to “None”.

Inactivating pages at a future date

You can use the page follow-up tasks feature to inactivate a page at a future date. Provided that follow-up tasks are turned on for your system (the default when the ACM is first installed), you will be able to set a date at which a particular page should go inactive.

  1. Edit the page you wish to set for future inactivation.

  2. Go to the Workflow tab.

  3. In the Follow-up Task field, select the date and time at which you want the page to go inactive.

  4. Select the Inactive radio button below this field.

  5. Click Save and submit page for publication.

Inactivated pages remain on the child pages tab of the parent page and an email indicating the page has been inactivated will be send to providers and monitors.
