In order to properly display an ACM page on a mobile device, you must create special mobile device page templates and indicate which device types should use which templates on a given page. With the correct template/device type combination assigned to a page, mobile devices should be able to view ACM pages without losing any formatting features.
Use this procedure to indicate which template/mobile device type combination a given ACM page should use. When mobile devices make a page request to view a page, the ACM will detect which device type is making the request and apply the customized template assigned to that page and device.
Note: Before you can complete this procedure you must make sure that your Site Design Manager has already edited the Site Design package to create the new customized templates. If this has not been done, you will not be able to assign new templates to the devices/pages.
From the System menu on the toolbar, go to the Site Design manager.
From the Site drop-down, select the site you wish to make settings for.
In the Page List, locate the page you wish to edit and click on the Edit link beside the name of the page.
In the General Page Design Details section, click the Mobile Device radio button to display the fields for assigning devices/templates to this page.
To add a new device/template combination, click Add Device. You can then search for a device type (Apple, Blackberry, HTC, etc.). For example, if you know that a large number of Blackberry users will be using the ACM on their devices, you may wish to create a custom template to support viewing ACM pages on the Blackberry. You would select the Blackberry device from the Search page.
Once you have searched for and selected a device type, it is displayed in the Mobile Device column.
From the Template drop-down list, select the template you have created to go with this mobile device type.
If you want to ensure that the child pages of the current page use the same template for this device, click Save and Apply to Children. You can then return to editing your sites.
