Syndicated calendar - end user properties
Click here for an OverviewOverview :
Login Page: You must provide a Login Page for your syndicated calendar. You will not be permitted to save the page until you have done so. The Login page is presented to users who try to add, edit or remove calendar events. When users add, edit or remove events, these actions must first be approved by the calendar administrator before they will occur. The calendar administrators are members of the group you assigned in the Calendar Administrators field in the Calendar Properties section of the page.
Allow Event Submission: Check this box to allow users to create new events on the calendar. The default Link Text for this feature is "Submit a New Event" and the default Message Text is "Thank you. Your event has been submitted for approval by the Calendar Administrator."
The Required Fields settings give you control over what is required from users before their event can be submitted. These settings ensure you get the information you need from anonymous users who submit events.
The Message Text is displayed after the event has been submitted. If the user has permissions for the syndicated event page, the change will occur without the need for approval by the calendar administrator.
Require at least one category: This checkbox is enabled if the syndicated calendar has been set up to display only syndicated events of specific categories. Check this box to require end users to select a category for their syndicated events, preventing uncategorized events from not appearing on the syndicated calendar.
Automatically include categories of the calendar: Check this box to automatically assign all calendar categories to syndicated events submitted by end users. This way, events are sure to show up on the syndicated calendar.
Allow attach files to event: Check this box to allow logged-in users to attach files to an event. You can specify the maximum file size. The following file extensions are accepted: .doc; .docx .jpg; .pdf; .png; .txt; .xls; .xlsx. When the end user is attaching the file, the system displays a message below the Browse button that alerts the user to the restrictions. For example, the message text might be "(Max file size: 1mb) File types doc, docx, jpg, pdf, png, txt, xls, xlsx."
Allow Anonymous Event Submission: Check this box to allow people to submit events for the calendar without being logged in. Anonymous users who submit syndicated events will not be allowed to edit or remove the event at a later date. Anonymous users aren't allowed to attach files to an event. Only logged in users can do these operations. The Message Text is displayed after the user clicks to submit an event, at the top of the Syndicated Event Submission page.
Allow submission of recurrence event: Check this box to allow end users to submit recurring syndicated events.
Allow Event Edit: Check this box to allow users to edit calendar events. The default Link Text is "Edit this Event" and the default Message Text is "Thank you. The changes to your event have been submitted for approval by the Calendar Administrator." The Message Text is displayed after the user has submitted the edits. If the user has permissions for the syndicated event page, the change will occur without the need for approval by the calendar administrator.
Allow Event Removal: Check this box to allow users to delete events from the calendar. The default Link Text is "Remove this Event" and the default Message Text is "Thank you. Your request for event removal has been submitted for approval by the Calendar Administrator." The Message Text is displayed after the user clicks to delete an event. If the user has permissions for the syndicated event page, the change will occur without the need for approval by the calendar administrator.
