Club listing - categories

Click here for an OverviewOverviewUse this section to define additional ways of characterizing a club. When users create a club, they will select from each of your categories, choosing the most appropriate descriptors from the options you provide. Then when people search for the type of club they want, they can narrow their search based on selections from the categories you have created. For example you might create a category called Interests and then  provide a long list of the types of interests various clubs may have (art, cooking, hiking, canoeing, tennis, painting, woodworking, etc.) You might define another category called Meets and have options such as weekly, monthly, bi-monthly, semi-annually, frequently, occasionally. And you might have yet another called Requirements and have sub-categories such as Monthly Fee, None, Annual Fee, Volunteer Hours and so on.

• Add: Click the Add button to open the Category editor where you can add the name of the category and all of the values (e.g. Interests: Cooking, Crafts, Sports, etc.)

• Order: This is the order in which the Category selectors will be displayed on the published listing search section of the Club Listing page. You can change the order by clicking the up and down arrows or typing a new number in place of the current row number.

• Name: This is the name of the main category. To see all of the values possible for this category, click on the name link. The category editor will be displayed with all of the possible category values listed.

• : This column indicates if a category is active. If you wish to inactivate a category simply uncheck the checkbox and republish the page.

• : Click this Delete icon to remove a category all together.

NOTE: When creating categories and adding the values to them, make sure you add an Other option or None option in case people are not able to fit their club into the various options you have provided.
