Creating login pages

Login pages can be added anywhere in the site where you want the user to have to go through an authentication process before viewing your site. This could be from the Home Page to log into the site or on an Application or Survey page.

Note: These instructions are primarily for login pages for ACM login as opposed to ACTIVE Passport. For pages that use Passport, the only controls on the Content tab of the Login page type that apply are the Post Login Page checkbox and the Public Login checkbox in the Login Properties section. See Login Properties for more information.

  1. Navigate to the page that will be the parent of the new page. See Parent and child pages if you are unsure what this means.

  2. Mouse over the +Childpage button and select Login from the list of page types. If you do not see the +Childpage button you may have insufficient user rights to add pages: speak to your system administrator.

  3. Complete the Page Summary and the General Properties sections of the page.

  4. Complete the Login Properties section.

  5. Complete the Introduction Text. This text appears above the login dialog.
See the Content editor overview and Content editor toolbar topics.

  6. Complete the Conclusion Text. This text appears below the login dialog.

  7. Edit the Forgot Password Text if you wish. This text instructs the user what to do when they forget their password. This text is displayed after they click the Forget Password link.

  8. If you want to change the default layout of the login components, edit the Advanced Layout Options.

  9. Click Save.

Note: It is recommended that you do not create child pages on the login page. Login pages do not usually have any other pages below them in the web site hierarchy.
