There are three different editors used extensively throughout the ACTIVE CM. The type of editor you use depends on the type of information you are editing.
The Content Editor is a text editor window that allows you to create page content. The window consists of a work area and accompanying toolbars, buttons and controls that allow you to format content. It functions in a similar fashion to a word-processor. The Content Editor is available in quick edit mode, or as part of the full page edit mode.
The default html editor used for the Content Editor is the RadAjax Editor. Other editors that can be implemented include: a plain text editor, TinyMCE editor, and a read-only interface. Each editor contains its own set of toolbars, buttons and features. Users can select the editor with which they are most comfortable.
The Page Editor is the full featured page editing tool that allows you to not only edit the textual and graphic content of a page in the Content Editor window, but also allows you to perform additional page management tasks such as:
creating child pages
personalizing the page
setting workflow follow-up tasks and publications dates
applying meta data tags
adding pagelets to the page, or
viewing page history
The Question Editor is the third editor in the ACM. It is used for creating questions and data collection fields that are used on application and order forms, and surveys. The Question Editor is also used by site administrators for creating meta data questions for applying meta data tags to content.
Each of these editors is discussed in detail in its own help topic.
