Add tab
This tab is used for uploading an asset when the one you want is not already uploaded to the ACTIVE Content Manager's Digital Asset Manager.
Name: This is the name you wish to give the digital asset. This is the name users will use to identify the content of the asset file so try to make it short and meaningful.
URL Title: If you are using Friendly URLs on your site, this is the URL that will be used to identify this digital asset. So instead of the ACM-generated url, your digital asset will display the same URL on your dynamic site as is used on your published static site.
Description: Enter a meaningful of the asset. For example, you may wish to enter copyright information or author, artist, photographer information and important descriptive information. This field allows a maximum of 1000 characters.
Alt Tag: The text you enter here will be displayed when users place the mouse pointer over top of the asset image or link. It is like a tool tip that provides information about the asset.
Assign to Folder: Select a folder from the drop-down box. This is the folder that you want to add the file to in the Digital Asset Manager.
If you need to create a new folder, you can do so by selecting a parent folder here and then entering a new folder name in the Add Subfolder field. You must click Add once you have entered a new subfolder name. Once the folder has been added, it is automatically moved to the Assign to Folder field.
Add Subfolder: This field is only used if you are creating a new digital asset folder for the asset to be uploaded to. See the Assign to Folder field for instructions for adding a new sub-folder.
Upload: Click Browse and select the file to add to the library.
Asset Type: If this is a flash video (.flv) file, you must select FlashVideo from the drop-down. The system will ensure that the video is converted to flash video format as it is uploaded (if it is not already in that format). If the file is of any other type, select File.
Optimize Image: If the Global System Variables and/or the Site Variables have set Image Optimization to be optional, then you can edit this field. If it is set to required then this option will be checked and greyed out and you will not be able to edit it. If you are able to change this field, decide whether you want to reduce the size of the image you are uploading to optimize it for use by the ACM. You can uncheck the checkbox if you do not wish to optimize the image being uploaded. It is recommended however that where possible you elect to optimize all images being used in the ACM.
Title/Alt Tag: When you first access the Browse tab, this field is called the Title field. If you select an image asset, the name of the field changes to Alt Tag and the name of the asset is displayed in the Alt Tag field. This is what the user will see if they mouse-over the asset on the published page. You can change this to provide a different name or more meaningful information for the user.
Link selected image: Check this checkbox if you are inserting an image and you want to link the image to a document or URL. This way, users will be able to click on the image to open the document or url.
Open In: Once you have selected the asset and updated the Alt Tag field, you can select how you want the asset displayed:
Same Window: This displays the asset embedded as a full picture or document icon visible right on the page in the spot where you inserted it.
New Window: This option displays a link comprised of the asset's Title. When you click on the link, the asset is opened in a new browser window.
Embed in Window (Multimedia): This option embeds a multimedia file such as a video file in the page with related player controls.
Insert: This button completes the insertion of the asset on the page once you have completed all of the desired settings.
